How we make money.

We believe you deserve to know how a free site stays free. Here's the full, plain-English breakdown.

The short version

Right now, this site makes no money at all. There are no affiliate links anywhere on it, we are not in any affiliate program, and we have never been paid a commission. Nobody sponsors anything here. If that changes, this page changes first, and the rules below are what we will hold ourselves to.

The longer version

As of August 2026 there are no affiliate relationships, no sponsorships, and no revenue of any kind. The calculators cost money to run and return nothing. Every number on this site was produced without anyone paying for a placement, because there are no placements.

We say this plainly because a page titled "How we make money" ought to answer the question honestly even when the answer is unimpressive. If we will not be straight about our own finances, there is no reason to trust our arithmetic about yours.

We do expect to add affiliate relationships eventually, most likely with lenders, insurers, or brokerages, because that is the version of this site that can keep existing without an email gate or an advertising wall. When that happens, links will be labeled "Sponsored," this page will name the actual partners, and the rules in the rest of this page apply from day one. What you will not see is this page describing partners before they exist.

How this affects what you see

We want to be straightforward about two things:

What it will affect: Which partners we can feature at all. We would only be able to show offers from companies whose affiliate programs accept us. There are good companies we will never feature simply because their program is closed, restricted, or does not exist. That is a real limitation and it is worth knowing about any site that recommends financial products.

What it will never affect: Our calculators' underlying math, our explanations, our recommendations on whether to take a particular financial action, or what we say about specific products. We don't weight calculator results to favor any partner. The numbers you see are the real numbers.

How we label sponsored content

There are currently no paid placements on the site, so you will not see either of these badges anywhere today. When there are, every one will be labeled, and this is what to look for:

  • SponsoredWill indicate a paid placement where we earn a commission if you click through and complete an action.
  • PartnerReserved for the same kind of paid placement. We intend to label everything "Sponsored," so this badge may never appear at all.

When they exist, all sponsored outbound links will carry the appropriate rel="sponsored nofollow" attribute as required by search engine guidelines.

Our editorial independence

No partner has the right to review, approve, or veto anything we publish about them or about any financial topic. We don't accept payment for positive reviews. We don't accept payment to hide negative information. If a partner's product has trade-offs you should know about, we'll tell you, even if it costs us a commission.

We also reserve the right to remove any partner from our site if we receive consistent negative feedback about their service or if their practices change in a way we can't support. Commissions don't buy permanent placement here.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or share your personal information with our partners.
  • We do not require an email address to use any calculator.
  • We do not pre-fill your information into partner applications without your action.
  • We do not use deceptive design patterns to push you toward affiliate links.
  • We do not write fake reviews or pose as third-party reviewers.

Not financial advice

Everything on Geaux To Market is for educational and informational purposes only. We are not licensed financial advisors, tax professionals, attorneys, or insurance agents. The calculators and content on this site are tools to help you think, not substitutes for personalized professional advice. Before making any major financial decision, consult a qualified professional who knows your full situation.
